The permanent collection exhibition "1956–1989: Architecture for All" has been on display since December 7, 2022 on the 2nd floor of the Trade Fair Palace of the National Gallery Prague (Dukelských hrdinů 47, Prague 7). The exhibition focuses on architecture and lifestyle in Czechoslovakia between 1956 and 1989, presenting lifestyle as a phenomenon where everyday experience intersects with architecture and design as creative disciplines. The exhibition is divided into six main sections: the EXPO exhibition, housing issues, technology and communication, work and consumption, culture and leisure, and critical architecture. It presents significant works from the National Gallery's Architecture Collection by authors such as Václav Aulický, Věra and Vladimír Machoninovi, František Cubr, Karel Prager, Alena Šrámková, and creative collectives such as Sial Liberec, complemented by photographs and films from the National Film Archive and period publications. The exhibition is curated by Helena Huber-Doudová. The title references Karel Honzík's 1956 book, whose ethos of renewal and societal transformation after World War II the exhibition reflects. Open Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–18:00, first Wednesday of each month 10:00–20:00.
