Moravská filharmonie Olomouc, Olomouc

The international music festival Dvořák's Olomouc returns in 2026 after a three-year break as part of the celebrations of the 80th concert season of the Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc. The festival runs from May 7 to June 14, 2026 at various historic venues throughout the city. The 21st edition's overarching theme is "New World, New Opportunities," referencing Antonín Dvořák's American period and his Symphony No. 9.

The festive opening took place on May 7 at the Reduta, where Ukrainian pianist Anna Fedorova made her Czech debut, performing Dvořák's "From the New World" Symphony under the baton of chief conductor Zsolt Hamara. Another highlight is a piano duo recital at the Archbishop's Palace featuring pianist Ivo Kahán and Olomouc-born Eliška Tkadlčíková. On May 22, the visiting Opole Philharmonic performs at the Reduta with the Moravian Theatre Choir, presenting Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Fine jazz comes on May 26 with Serbian double bassist Nenad Vasilić and his trio at the Red Church. For families with children, the Small Cultural Stage Sedmička transforms into an all-day family festival on May 31. An outdoor concert takes place on June 7 at Sovinec Castle courtyard. The absolute highlight is the closing open-air concert "Musical Fireworks of the Moravian Philharmonic" on June 14 in the Summer Cinema Olomouc grounds, featuring Jiří Korn, Eva Burešová, and Patricie Kaňok (Vesna). The festival emerged from the transformation of the Olomouc Spring Music Festival, which the Moravian Philharmonic has organized since 1958.
