The cycle Adiemus – Songs of Sanctuary by Karl Jenkins works with language in its own way – instead of concrete meaning, it foregrounds the sound of the human voice itself. This creates music where you don't need to know the language being sung.
The concert offers a blend of choral singing, orchestra, and rhythmic influences inspired by various cultures. Minimalism, distinctive melody, and the use of voice as an instrument are among the most characteristic features of Jenkins' work.
The performance features the choirs Puls and Coloreton conducted by Silvie Młynarczykova and the Symfonický orchestr Doubravan Chotěboř conducted by Jakub Pikla.
