Perpetuum Havel is a new production by the Laterna magika ensemble of the National Theatre, premiering on 10 September 2026 at Palác Akropolis. The production is inspired by Václav Havel's libretto "Perpetuum mobile aneb 7 dní pana A" and other sources of inspiration. The production is directed by Petr Boháč, with music by Martin Hůla, set design by Pavlína Chroňáková, and lighting design by Filip Horn. The production tells the story of a nameless prisoner and more broadly of people who, under tyrannical regimes, dared to step out of line and express their stance — they are nearly invisible, yet they inspire fear in the most powerful. Their stories of courage and determination spread uncontrollably like modern myths. Laterna magika is performing at Palác Akropolis during a transitional period while the New Stage undergoes reconstruction. A work-in-progress version of the production has been presented since December 2025.
