Historic May Fair in Děčín 2026

The Historic May Fair is an annual major historical and cultural event that opens the Děčín City Celebrations. In 2026, it takes place on May 16 and 17 in the South Gardens of Děčín Castle, in the courtyard, and on Marián Meadow. On Saturday the fair is open from 10 to 18 hours, on Sunday from 10 to 17 hours. As part of the Gothic fair, visitors can enjoy a historical tent town, executioner's block, falconry displays, period music and dances. The highlight of Saturday's programme is the Battle for the City of Děčín, which begins at 15:00 on Marián Meadow. Younger visitors can look forward to demonstrations of historical crafts, archery, and fencing contests. The fair includes stalls with original handcrafted products and unusual delicacies, as well as performances by Děčín choirs Sah, Pomněnky + Kvítek and others. The event is part of the Děčín Anchor floristry competition. Entry to the fair is from the castle basement area near the castle granary. The event is preceded by a torchlit procession with lanterns on Friday evening from Husův Square to the South Castle Gardens.
