The Railway Museum Lužná u Rakovníka – the largest railway museum in the Czech Republic, located in the former Buštěhrad Railway depot on the edge of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area – opens its gates to the public during May weekends. The main attraction is rides on the historic Krauss steam locomotive No. 21 from 1912 on a narrow-gauge 800 mm track loop within the museum grounds. Rides run on the hour and half-hour, or according to visitor demand. The standard fare for the narrow-gauge railway is 70 CZK; children under five ride free. Museum admission during announced events is 300/250/850 CZK. Three times daily, guided tours of the grounds are offered and included in the admission price – visitors conclude with a look inside President T. G. Masaryk's Salon Car. The grounds feature the largest collection of steam locomotives in the Czech Republic, historic railcars, diesel and electric locomotives, period passenger and freight cars, a locomotive turntable, a model railway in HO scale, and an indoor exhibition of signalling technology. Visitors are allowed to touch the exhibits and climb on some of them. Refreshments are available in a historic dining car on site. Payment is accepted in cash (Czech crowns only) and by card.
