The State Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou is hosting the tenth edition of the International Glass and Jewellery Triennial Jablonec 2026 – the largest non-commercial showcase of contemporary Czech glass and jewellery in the entire Czech Republic. The event runs from 15 May 2026 in the main museum building, with some exhibitions continuing into 2027. The triennial features five thematic exhibitions focused on contemporary art, design, and industrial production. The main exhibition TRENDY.DESIGN.PRODUCTION (15 May – 20 September 2026) presents products from fifty companies, glassworks, brands, and studios from four European countries, showcasing the current state of glass and jewellery design and the connection between traditional craftsmanship and new technologies. The exhibition JOURNEY TO THE STARS (15 May – 18 October 2026) presents works by three promising young glass designers and artists – Dominika Petrtýlová, Johan Pertl, and Vlastimil Šenkýř. The exhibition BOROSILICATE GLASS (15 May – 20 September 2026) showcases all types of this material manufactured in the Czech Republic. The exhibition REVISION combines historical jewellery and modern design – students from five universities in the Czech Republic and abroad have transformed Art Nouveau and Art Deco jewellery into contemporary fashion accessories. The triennial also includes the second edition of the International Christmas Ornament Symposium. Throughout the exhibition, visitors can vote for their favourite products using a card attached to their admission ticket. The triennial is long-term supported by the Czech Ministry of Culture and continues the tradition of international glass and jewellery exhibitions held in Jablonec since the 1960s.
