An exhibition dedicated to Těšín painter Ida Münzberg (1876–1955) is on display in the Historic Building of the Těšín Museum in Český Těšín from March 18 to August 31, 2026. Ida Münzberg was born on February 19, 1876, in Střítež near Těšín and studied at Vienna art schools during the Art Nouveau period. She devoted herself to still-life and landscape painting, including motifs from her native Těšínska region and the towns of Těšín and Český Těšín, but the core of her work consists of portraits. Over the first half of the 20th century, she depicted several prominent figures and many now-forgotten inhabitants of Těšínska. The portraits convince through their truthfulness and sensitive rendering of the subjects, capturing their inner character. Due to their undeniable artistic qualities, the work of this Vienna art school graduate is increasingly valued and sought after. The museum's historic building on Main Street is wheelchair-accessible and open daily except Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
