Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is twenty-two, lives at the expense of his homosexual roommate (Kieran Culkin), plays in the garage band Sex Bob-omb, and with assembly-line style efficiency goes through one girl after another. Scott has never had trouble winning over any woman. Rather, he had trouble getting rid of her afterwards. But now it is time for him to experience how love hurts. Her name is Ramona (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), she has the bluest hair in the world, and Scott fell for her at first sight, hopelessly and recklessly in love. Nothing stands in the way of their bright shared future, at least that is what Scott thinks. But while he only needs to get rid of his current girlfriend, his band's childish fan, Ramona comes with a terrifying curse. In short – anyone who wants to date her must first defeat seven of her ex-partners. Unfortunately, not in a battle of wits, but in a fight to the death. Another person would back off, but Scott is truly head over heels in love, and so in the next few days he faces bizarre and potentially deadly encounters with, among others, a skateboarding legend, a rock star with vegan leanings, two identical DJs whose music can kill, or an eternally angry lesbian. Yes, Ramona dated all of them in the past, and it is they who want to make sure that Scott's fairy tale does not have a happy ending.
