Plzeň
An open-air amphitheatre north of Plzeň city centre, built between 1951 and 1961 on the grounds of the former Kodetova garden as part of a civic improvement initiative. Designed by architects František Sammer and Stanislav Suda, it opened in 1961 and seats up to 17,000 spectators. Since 1997 it has been part of the Plzeň Zoo and Botanical Garden. It hosts concerts, theatre performances, open-air cinema screenings and major festivals. A major renovation was completed in 2014–2015.

A major metal festival returns to Plzeň's Lochotín amphitheatre for its 15th edition with headliners Avantasia, Sepultura and Accept. The three-day event from 5–7 June 2026 features dozens of bands, camping and equipped tent accommodation.
