About the venue
Divadlo Mír is the youngest professional theatre in Ostrava, focusing primarily on drama and comedy. It was founded by actor Albert Čuba in 2016 and opened in March 2017. The theatre is located in the Vítkovice district, in a building from the early 1930s originally constructed as the Sokol cinema Bio Rekord and later converted into the Mír cinema. It has no permanent acting ensemble, instead inviting professional theatre artists from Ostrava and across the Czech Republic for each production.
