About the venue
Medova Vila on Tyršovo náměstí is a functionalist building from 1933–1934, designed by architect Josef Gočár for entrepreneur Otakar Med as a combined family home and business headquarters. Its clean horizontal lines, ribbon windows, and smooth facade echo Gočár's work on Prague's Baba housing colony. The villa has been a listed cultural monument since 1958; the city of Humpolec purchased it in 2024. Since 2025 it has been open to the public through guided tours, lectures, workshops, and film screenings.
