Three Czech melodramas in a single performance: works by Ostrčil, Foerster and Fibich. An intimate production with actors, piano and violin accompaniment.
Brno
Vila Engelsmann is a neo-Baroque villa built in 1931–1932 on Hlinky Street in Brno for textile industrialist and art collector Felix Engelsmann. The L-shaped building with a mansard roof and grand street façade stands in stark contrast to the functionalism dominant at the time. The owners fled the Nazi occupation in 1939; the villa was confiscated and later nationalised. Today it is privately owned and available for event hire and guided tours.
