Karel Škréta (1610–1674) was a leading Czech Baroque painter who spent years in Italy before returning to Prague, where he became a central figure in the city's artistic life. He is best known for his religious paintings, altarpieces, and portraits. His works are held in the collections of the National Gallery in Prague.
