Marika Gombitová is a Slovak pop singer and one of the most prominent figures in Slovak popular music. She rose to fame in the 1970s and 80s with hits such as "Vietor do plachiet". After a serious car accident in 1981, she continued her career despite lasting health consequences, and is widely regarded as an icon of Slovak pop music.
