PINKBUS Slovak and No Other

The renowned queer platform PINKBUS comes to Galaxie for the first time! In collaboration with DanceConnected and Dejvické Divadlo, it presents an evening of unconventional culture, drag, and honest political satire titled SLOVAK AND NO OTHER. The show emerged as a direct response to the destructive actions of the Slovak Ministry of Culture under Martina Šimkovičová and Lukáš Machala, and has evolved into a cathartic manifesto of freedom – a cabaret "demonstration" that clearly and proudly declares that culture cannot be taken from us. At a time when traditional values, rural life, and folklore are championed on one side, and queer people and city dwellers on the other, the nation seeks common ground and understanding between both camps. And what better way to bridge this than through music? From the Tatras to the Danube, through "The Maiden Tended the Peacocks", Eugen Suchoň to Marika Gombitová. The evening concludes with a traditional Slovak celebration. Concept and choreography: Martin Talaga (Thalia Prize laureate).
