Art&Play – Africa – Ritual Masks
Villa Pellé, Prague
Ritual masks depicting ancestors, gods, demons, and animals are created by African tribes across the entire continent. In this penultimate workshop of the series, children will create their own stylized mask from paper.
The workshop series is dedicated to the art of non-European peoples — participants gradually explore different continents and try diverse artistic techniques. Topics include, for example, stylization of the human face in African masks, principles of Indonesian shadow theatre, or creation of Zen paintings.
Workshops are designed for children aged 7–12 without parental supervision. The workshop lasts 90 minutes without a break; all materials and tools are included in the ticket price and children take their creations home. Work clothes or suitable attire and your own drink are recommended.
