Animefest is the largest Czech festival for fans of Japanese manga and anime, organized by the Brno Otaku Association since 2004. The 21st edition takes place May 22–24, 2026 at Brno Exhibition Centre (BVV), in pavilion E.
Official programme opens Friday at 6 p.m., with venue access from 4 p.m. The main stage for competitions and concerts moves to hall B, which accommodates all attendees – the main programme will not be streamed online. The schedule includes screenings of classic and latest anime films, workshops (including Japanese fan painting and dance workshops), lectures, cosplay competitions, console gaming, combat arena, board games, and live music. Confirmed musical guests include bands Rolling Quartz and Ash Da Hero. The festival also features Animefest AsianStyle AFterparty vol. 10 at club Fléda (May 23, 9:30 p.m.–4 a.m.) with two separate stages – K-pop and anime/J-rock.
Entry is via a wristband exchanged for a ticket upon arrival; at the entrance you receive an information brochure with the programme, venue map, and commemorative magnet. Early check-in (ticket-to-wristband exchange) is available Thursday 4–7 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m.–1 p.m. in pavilion E. On-site accommodation (in a school building) is available for wristband holders from Friday 4 p.m.; showers are provided. Admission can be paid by card or in euros. ZTP/P (disabled visitors): ticket holders purchase a regular ticket; companions enter free. Transport: trolleybus 25 or 26, Konečného náměstí stop.
