Gillian Anderson (Sex Education), Vanessa Kirby (The Crown), and Ben Foster (Jan Žižka) return to the screen in Tennessee Williams' classic work.

As the fragile world of aging Blanche DuBois begins to crumble, she turns to her younger sister Stella. However, Blanche's brother-in-law Stanley has the power to shatter even her last illusions.

The production is directed by Benedict Andrews (NT Live: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof). In 2014, it became the fastest-selling show in the history of the Young Vic theatre, and after ten years it returns to the NT Live programme.

Malden also played in high-profile Hollywood films such as Baby Doll (1956), The Hanging Tree (1959), How the West Was Won (1962), Gypsy (1962) and Patton (1970). From 1972 to 1977, he portrayed Lt. Mike Stone in the prime time television crime drama The Streets of San Francisco. He was later the spokesman for American Express.

Bio Central is the last brick-and-mortar cinema in Hradec Králové, operating since 1929 under various names (Bio Slavie, Kino Jas, Kino Centrál). After a long break it reopened in December 2012. The large hall seats 384, the small hall 40. The programme covers mainstream and art-house films, live broadcasts of opera, theatre and ballet, a film club, and annual festivals such as Jeden svět, Dny evropského filmu and Cinema Open. In summer it also runs an open-air cinema at the Gayer Barracks.
