Description was written before the event

Jedu v medu is an annual event of the National Agricultural Museum Prague dedicated to bees and wild pollinators. In 2026, it takes place on Saturday, May 23 from 10:00 to 17:00 in the museum building and courtyard (Kostelní 44, Prague 7). The day opens with a traditional honey breakfast, followed by fascinating insights into the lives of wild and managed pollinators. Experienced beekeepers will share their work and daily bee care; visitors can look directly into hives on the rooftop terrace or watch and try honey extraction in cooperation with Prague Forests (workshops at 11:00, 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00). Professional honey taster Petr Vičan from Valašsko will lead tastings of Czech and foreign honey varieties (11:30, 13:30, 14:30 and 15:30). The programme also includes a presentation of Croatian beekeeping with traditional specialities baking, a meeting with Czech bumblebees in cooperation with the Bumblebees PLUS initiative (including live bumblebees) and honey cooking courses for children. Creative workshops will offer making honey soap, candles and ornaments from beeswax or building a bee robot from LEGO bricks. The event also features a mead tasting led by Jiří Poučka from Meadery – Museum of Mead. Stalls selling honey and other beekeeping products will complement the entire programme. The event is primarily intended for families with children.
