Ohrada National Hunting Festival
Národní zemědělské muzeum Praha, Prague
The Ohrada National Hunting Festival is a traditional nationwide celebration of hunters and nature lovers, held annually in June by the National Agricultural Museum. The Prague branch of NAM (Kostelní 44, Prague 7 – Letná) hosts its own version of the festival with a rich programme for the whole family. Visitors can look forward to falconry demonstrations, hunting dog shows, a laser shooting range, a children's hunting trail, workshops and games for kids, a hunting photo booth, and sales of hunting equipment and clothing. The programme includes venison specialities and a gastro zone.
The event is hosted by Jiří Kasina, editor-in-chief of Myslivost magazine, with musical accompaniment by the band Květovanka. This year's edition will be highlighted by the presence of the Ohrada twenty-six-pointer – a world trophy of the European red deer and the pride of NAM Ohrada – which visitors can view directly in Prague. The event is organised by NAM in cooperation with the Czech-Moravian Hunting Association and Myslivost magazine.
