Lucrecia Dalt + Alex Lázaro

Colombian experimental pop artist Lucrecia Dalt brings her seventh studio album A Danger to Ourselves to Prague's MeetFactory, earning praise from both fans and critics. The record moves away from the fantastical fictional narratives of her previous release ¡Ay! and turns inward to the artist's intimate emotional landscape. Dalt crafts avant-garde pop from electronic textures and acoustic instruments, which she processes and transforms beyond recognition, complemented by her distinctive vocal presence. The evening opens with a solo set by percussionist, composer, producer, and longtime collaborator Alex Lázaro. His monumental percussion setup includes marimba, vibraphone, flexatone, timpani, octobans, and rototoms—its complexity echoing Gaudí's modernist architecture. Playing it demands near-acrobatic skill, and this former jazz drummer and passionate improviser delivers extraordinarily dynamic rhythmic arrangements. The concert is part of Lucrecia Dalt's European tour; she last performed at MeetFactory in 2023 with the album ¡Ay!.
