Khamoro (Romani for "little sun") is the world's largest professional Romani festival, held in Prague since 1999 by organizations Slovo 21 and Studio Production Saga. The 28th edition of the festival runs from May 24–30, 2026, under the patronage of Czech President Petr Pavel. Over its existence, the festival has hosted more than 270 bands from 35 countries, including world-renowned groups such as Mahala Rai Banda, Kočani Orkestar, and Parno Graszt. The programme includes concerts of traditional Romani music, world-acclaimed gypsy jazz, and classical music – featuring Reinhardt Sinti Jazz Ensemble (Jazz Dock, May 25), Basily Gipsy Band & Marius Preda (Jazz Dock, May 26), two traditional Romani music concerts at La Fabrice (May 28–29), and a closing gala concert at SaSaZu (May 30 from 8 p.m.). The festival opens with a traditional Khamoro party on Střelecký Island (May 24 from 7 p.m.). The festival also includes exhibitions, theatre performances, a traditional parade through Prague's centre, a children's day, witness testimonies, film screenings, dance workshops, and expert conferences. The festival attracts approximately 10,000 visitors from the Czech Republic and abroad each year. Khamoro holds the prestigious EFFE Label award – a European quality mark for exceptional festivals.
