Theatrical World Brno
Brno
The international festival Theatrical World Brno returns in 2026 for its seventeenth edition, running from May 12 to 24. The festival will present more than 90 performances and accompanying events across Brno's stages – the Janáček Theatre, Mahen Theatre, Reduta Theatre, Husa na provázku Theatre, Brno City Theatre, Polárka Theatre, Radost Theatre, and artistic venues at JAMU, as well as the newly included Co.Labs and Café Kaprál Residence.
This year's edition is accompanied by the campaign "A Tribute to Nations." The opening performance on May 12 at the Janáček Theatre will be presented by Nederlands Dans Theater – NDT 2 with the dance evening Folkå and SAABA. The main festival weekend on May 16–17 will feature a grand dance-puppet production of "Má vlast" in co-production with the Czech Philharmonic, DEKKADANCERS, the Forman Brothers Theatre, and Jatek 78 – the first-ever staged performance of this musical cycle. Czech theatre companies will include the Petr Bezruč Theatre with "Late Arrivals," the Dejvické Theatre with "The Ravens," and the South Bohemian Theatre with "Funny Darkness." The festival will close with the Forman Brothers Theatre's "Bird Parliament" in a specially constructed tent in Brno's Komárov district (May 19–24).
The programme also includes the Festival Open House at the Janáček Theatre (May 16–17, free entry, wheelchair accessible), a Staging Incubator supporting independent ensembles, and Theatre Trips Abroad. Tickets are available online on the festival website, at the National Theatre Brno Customer Centre, and at the box offices of participating theatres. When purchasing 4 or more tickets for different performances, a 25% discount is automatically applied.
