Description was written before the event

A full-length butoh-clown performance by Musaši Entertainment Company (MEC), which premiered on 26 May 2021 at Alfred Ve Dvoře. The production was created by Adam Páník, Tereza Havlová, Matěj Šumbera, and Veronika Traburová. On stage, a homeless man and a demon meet two samurai, two clowns, two butoh dancers, and two geishas. From Japanese folk tales and legends emerge human characters and other creatures, moving silently to the sounds of a cat and the clacking of geta. This non-verbal theatrical vision of a liminal situation poses the question: What would you save from a burning house? The performance is part of a week-long festival of MEC's work at Alfred Ve Dvoře (15–21 May 2026), which traces the company's development since its founding at KALD DAMU in 2020. MEC is an entertainment company engaged in original theatre, sound art, woodcarving, musical instrument making, and other traditional crafts. In 2023, the company received the Talent of the Year award at the …příští vlna/next wave… festival, and in 2025 represented Czech puppet theatre traditions at the EXPO world exhibition in Osaka, Japan.
