Tourism – Our Luxury, Our Suffering
Atrium Žižkov, Prague
free entry or za voluntary entry
The exhibition "Tourism: Our Luxury, Our Suffering" at Atrium Žižkov Gallery explores how individual adventurous travel has become an uncontrolled mass phenomenon that fundamentally transforms landscapes, cities, and our imagination. We perceive tourism as a natural part of life, yet it is a surprisingly recent invention. Atrium Žižkov Gallery is committed to the concept of "documentary gallery" and offers exhibition projects focused on significant contemporary social issues – exhibitions do not end on opening day but evolve throughout their duration alongside visitors. Each year the gallery presents two exhibitions, and for each one prepares accompanying and educational programmes for schools and the general public. The exhibition opening took place on 23 April 2026 at 18:00, and the exhibition itself is accessible from 24 April 2026. Entry is free or by voluntary donation. Atrium Žižkov is located in a deconsecrated Baroque church at Čajkovského 12/12a, Prague 3, in the heart of Žižkov near the television tower and Olšanský Square. Access to the building, hall, and gallery is barrier-free (toilets for wheelchair users are not available). Paid parking is available nearby on Ondříčkova and Fibichova streets. The ticket office is open on Mondays 15–19 and Thursdays 10–14, and one hour before any event.
