Screening of Punch-Drunk Love (2002) as part of the PTA et al. series at Kino Aero. Paul Thomas Anderson's absurdist romantic comedy follows Barry Egan (Adam Sandler), an anxious entrepreneur who falls in love with his sister's coworker (Emily Watson) while facing extortion from a phone sex line and accumulating frequent flyer miles through a bizarre pudding promotion. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002, where Anderson won the award for Best Director. The supporting cast includes Philip Seymour Hoffman and Luis Guzmán. Kino Aero is a legendary single-screen cinema in Prague's Žižkov district, which screens dozens of different titles monthly, including extensive director retrospectives.
