Punch-Drunk Love
Kino Aero, Prague
Punch-Drunk Love (USA, 2002) is a romantic comedy directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. Shy bachelor Barry Egan (Adam Sandler), owner of a cleaning-supplies store, is an eccentric man prone to sudden fits of rage. He has seven sisters who constantly burden him with their problems, which is likely why he remains alone. Then one day, a charming stranger named Lena (Emily Watson) appears outside his office – and this chance encounter becomes the first step on a romantic journey toward love. The film is screened at Prague's Kino Aero, one of the oldest film clubs in the Czech Republic, which presents dozens of different titles each month, including retrospectives and one-off screenings of films not in Czech distribution.
