Spring Matsuri – Japanese Festival

The weekend festival Spring Matsuri – Japanese Festival takes place on 16–17 May 2026 at Manifesto Market Anděl (Ostrovského 34, Prague 5) and offers a rich programme dedicated to Japanese culture. Saturday programme (12:00–22:00) includes a Kimono Corner where visitors can try on and be photographed in kimono (every 30 minutes), Japanese language lessons in Czech, an origami workshop, dance performances, live Japanese jazz fusion with the band Plato Saxman, and an evening DJ set by Just Luke. Sunday programme (11:00–19:30) features Japanese language lessons in English, an ikebana workshop (the art of flower arrangement), calligraphy, a sushi workshop (EN + CZ), an aikido demonstration, traditional Japanese singing by Aska Pluskal, and a performance by the Japanese band Funk Ivanders. Throughout the weekend, themed pop-ups are available, such as Hanami with traditional Japanese ceramics and other authentic products. Manifesto Market Anděl is wheelchair-accessible and located in close proximity to the Anděl metro and tram stops.
