Charity Orienteering Race in the Chamber of Deputies
Poslanecká sněmovna Parlamentu České republiky, Prague
The Charity Orienteering Race in the Chamber of Deputies is a unique indoor orienteering competition organized by the Czech Orienteering Sports Association (ČSOS) in the spaces of the Thun and Auersperg Palaces – three interconnected buildings with four floors, intricate staircases and corridors that are normally closed to the public. The event takes place as part of World Orienteering Week and was initiated by Member of Parliament Karel Haas. The competition runs over several days, with two two-hour sessions each morning and afternoon, with each session limited to 30 pre-registered participants. Competitors can choose from challenging courses through the corridors and passages of the Chamber. The event is charitable – all proceeds go to the Czech Olympic Foundation and the organization Darujme krou. Both recreational and competitive orienteers, as well as MPs and Chamber staff, can participate. Participation requires prior registration through the ORIS system.
