DSB: The Snow Queen and the Black Mirror

The production "The Snow Queen and the Black Mirror" is part of the 17th International Theatre Festival "Theatre World Brno" (DSB), running 12–24 May 2026 and featuring more than 90 performances and other events. The production is brought to Brno by the Slovak National Theatre from Bratislava — a foreign production for young audiences, suitable for children aged eight and up. The staging is based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale and tells a story of love, wisdom, and beauty: Kai is struck by a shard from the Snow Queen's mirror and taken to her kingdom, but his faithful friend Gerda sets out on a journey to rescue him. The performance takes place at the Radost Theatre; a 45-minute introduction for children will be held before the show begins. The Slovak National Theatre is a major draw for audiences at the DSB festival each year.
