INTERVIEW

INTERVIEW is an original Czech chamber musical created specifically for the musical ensemble of the National Theatre of Moravia-Silesia. The world premiere took place on November 29, 2023 at Theatre "12" and was dedicated to the memory of Patricie Burda Janečková, for whom the female role was originally written. The music was composed by Brno-based composer Zdeněk Král (musical supervision), with Jakub Žídek overseeing the musical staging. The libretto and concept are by director Marek David, song lyrics by Tomáš Novotný. The set and costumes were designed by Marek Cpin, with sound design by Petr Šimíček. The concept and dramaturgy were developed by Gabriela Petráková, with Hana Nováková handling dramaturgy. In the 2025/2026 season, the lead roles are played by Veronika Boráková (Singer) and Tomáš Savka (Host). The story unfolds in a radio studio: an experienced host, trapped in a cycle of predictable interviews, suddenly finds himself face to face with an unknown woman. Both are suddenly immersed in a tense and mysterious clash between two worlds and philosophies that would likely never collide outside this studio. The performance lasts approximately 75 minutes (19:00–20:15) and is staged at the intimate Theatre "12", which offers an intimate atmosphere and intense contact between actor and audience.
