Dolní oblast Vítkovice is a national cultural monument in Ostrava — a vast industrial complex of former blast furnaces, a coking plant and mining structures dating from the 19th and 20th centuries. Today it functions as a multifunctional cultural venue hosting concerts, festivals (including Colours of Ostrava), exhibitions and educational events. The landmark Bolt Tower offers a panoramic viewing platform.
