Ostrov
A multipurpose cultural centre on Mírové náměstí in Ostrov near Karlovy Vary, built in 1954–1955 as part of a socialist garden-city development. The building in the socialist realist style features a sculptural group on the façade, an original fresco in the foyer, and stained-glass windows in the social halls. Together with the square, it has been a listed cultural monument since 1998. It houses a cinema and hosts theatre performances, concerts, and community events.
