What Remains of Love

The relationship between Magnus and Anna is heading toward its bittersweet end. Anna finds inspiration for her art in the vast Icelandic meadows, while Magnus, working as a fisherman, spends much of the year at sea. Shared moments with three teenagers and a dog are filled with subtle tension.

Yet as time passes, reproaches give way to reconciliation, and conflicts can suddenly be viewed with humor and understanding. Director Hlynur Pálmason demonstrates his unique cinematic poetry, revealing how much of value can remain from love, even when it seems everything is gone.
