A Walk Through Kampa to Klárův
Kostel sv. Jana Křtitele Na Prádle, Prague
This guided walk starts at the Church of St. John the Baptist on Na Prádle and explores Kampa, highlighting the many film locations in this neighbourhood. The programme includes a stop at Hergetova Cihelna to see David Černý's famous urinating sculptures and learn about the concept behind them. The walk concludes at Klárův near a house connected to a prominent Czech actress.
During the tour, participants will discover how the island of Kampa was formed, who owned the mills and gardens here, what caused the catastrophic fire that captured Prague's attention, how noble children were educated, why there is a bust of Josef Dobrovský in the park, the significance of the image of the Virgin Mary on a house near Charles Bridge, and where the memorial to firefighters who died in the New York attack on 11 September 2001 is located.
