Museum Night at Mikulov Castle is a traditional part of the nationwide Festival of Museum Nights, organized by the Association of Museums and Galleries of the Czech Republic with financial support from the city of Mikulov. The event takes place on May 22, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and admission is completely free. Throughout the evening, there is free access to all museum exhibitions and seasonal displays: From Gothic to Empire, Dietrichstein Gallery, Desire and Dignity, Castle Library, Castle Cellar with a giant barrel, Traditional Winemaking in Moravia, Wine Press Gallery, and Romans and Germans in the Land Below Pálava. The accompanying programme traditionally includes cimbalom music, demonstrations and lessons in historical dances, a show by Roman legionaries from the Marcomania group with activities for both children and adults, an adventure game for the youngest visitors in the castle rooms, and wine tasting with a view of Holy Hill. The evening typically culminates in a concert and a fire show that illuminates the castle garden. The event is part of the Festival of Museum Nights, which in 2026 runs from May 15 to June 13 in more than 200 cities and 646 institutions throughout the Czech Republic.
