A Midsummer Night's Dream - Summer Shakespeare Festival 2026

"A Midsummer Night's Dream" is the headline premiere of the 19th season of the Summer Shakespeare Festival in Ostrava, running from 20 July to 10 August 2026 at Silesian Ostrava Castle. Directed by Vojtěch Štěpánek, the production features Aneta Krejčíková, Marek Adamczyk (alternate Tomáš Havlínek), Sára Rychlíková, Vojtěch Vondráček, Marek Taclík, Erika Stárková, Jakub Kohák, Dana Batulková, Petr Buchta, Šimon Krupa, and Kamil Halbich.

Shakespeare's early comedy is built on a brilliant plot about two pairs of identical twins separated at birth — their meeting in ancient Syracuse sets off a whirlwind of mix-ups, misunderstandings, and comic situations. The Ostrava premiere takes place on 31 July, with performances running four times (31 July, 1, 2, and 3 August 2026), always at 20:30.

The auditorium in the lower part of the castle grounds offers VIP zones, boxes, zones 1–4, and a gallery; the VIP zone includes refreshments in the ticket price. The grounds feature restrooms and food and beverage stands. Tickets are available through the Ticketmaster network.
