The collection exhibition "1796–1918: Art of the Long Century" is located on the 4th floor of the Trade Fair Palace of the National Gallery in Prague (Dukelských hrdinů 47, Prague 7) and has been open since November 2019. It presents more than 450 works by 150 artists in three thematic sections – Man, World, and Ideas – and deliberately and naturally connects Czech art with international art. Unlike previous collection exhibitions, the display includes no loans from other institutions; the exhibition shows what the National Gallery has accumulated over its more than 220-year history. Alongside Gustav Klimt's famous Virgin are works by Egon Schiele, Edvard Munch, Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Eugène Delacroix, and others. The exhibition also includes sculptures by Václav Levý, Josef Václav Myslbek, Auguste Rodin, and others. The exhibition is complemented by two intimate graphic cabinets with a collection of prints and drawings from this period. The curatorial team consists of Veronika Hulíková (NGP), Otto M. Urban, and Filip Wittlich. Open Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–18:00, every first Wednesday of the month 10:00–20:00. Admission to collection exhibitions: standard 220 CZK, reduced 120 CZK; free entry for children under 15. Wheelchair accessible.
