Schools – From Prague to Paris
Veletržní palác, Prague
An educational programme by the National Gallery Prague designed for French language students at levels A1–A2. It is suitable for pupils in grades 6–9 and multi-year grammar schools, as well as for students in the first year of secondary schools with French language instruction.
The programme guides participants through Czech-French relations from the First Republic era, when an extensive purchase of French art was carried out under the patronage of T. G. Masaryk. Students will explore the National Gallery's French Collection and find themselves in situations where they naturally converse in French – including a simulated art auction. The programme relates to works by artists: Henri Rousseau, Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso.
Duration: 60 minutes / Capacity: 12–30 people / Price: 100 CZK per person, 2 teachers free
