Kytice is a legendary Semafor Theatre production subtitled "baladyáda", inspired by the ballads of Karel Jaromír Erben. The libretto was written by Jiří Suchý, and the music composed by Ferdinand Havlík. The performance consists of six ballads, each in a different genre: the first is rooted in folklore, the second is a small jazz opera, the third an operetta, followed by a cabaret sketch, pop, and finally a musical. It has been on the Semafor repertoire since 1972 — over half a century — and has undergone three different versions during that time. It is approaching its nine-hundredth performance, making it the most successful production in the theatre's sixty-six-year history. The current cast includes Jiří Suchý (Baltazar), Jitka Molavcová (Františka), Lucie Černíková (Panna, Dornička, Hanička), Michal Stejskal (Král, Umrlec, Starosvat), and Jiří Krejčí (Vodník, Poustevník, Umrlec). Semafor Theatre is located at Dejvická 27, Prague 6.
