Schools – In the Gallery with a Sketchbook: 1918–1938: The First Republic

The educational programme "In the Gallery with a Sketchbook" is designed for school groups and takes place in the exhibition "1918–1938: The First Republic" at the Trade Fair Palace. The programme is built on students' perception of artworks and their own creative work – students walk through the exhibition, observe, and capture their impressions through sketching.

Teachers can choose a single visit to a specific exhibition, or return with their students to gradually explore other exhibitions at the Trade Fair Palace (a triptych of the 19th–21st centuries). Repeated visits result in an extensive sketchbook mapping this entire period. The programme emphasises personal responsibility and cultivated behaviour from each student.

Programme objectives: initiate individual encounters with artworks, record impressions through sketching, become familiar with a diverse range of artistic approaches, and create a portfolio of personal creative interpretations. The selection of artists depends on each student's individual choice.
