Schools – Dialogical Tour: Art of the Long Century
Veletržní palác, Prague
100 Kč / osoba, 2 pedagogové free
This dialogical tour takes place in the exhibition 1796–1918: Art of the Long Century. Students are divided into smaller teams and, with the help of clues—text excerpts, photographs, drawings, and tactile traces—immerse themselves in one selected artwork. The clues guide them from details of the painting and the artist's life to broader questions of history and society: from the position of women and the emergence of modern metropolises, through the symbolism of national narratives, to the intimacy and psychology of humanity at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The result is not a single correct answer, but diverse interpretations that can complement, question, and open new perspectives. The programme develops visual literacy, critical and creative thinking, and the ability to formulate one's own opinion and listen to others.
The programme relates to works and creators: Pepa Mařáková, Bohumil Kubišta, Jakub Schikaneder, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Emil Lauffer, František Ženíšek, Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt.
Target group: secondary and tertiary students / Duration: 120 minutes / Capacity: 12–30 people / Price: 100 CZK per person, 2 teachers free
