The House of Culture in Strakonice is a multifunctional cultural venue operated by the Municipal Cultural Centre Strakonice (MěKS). The building, dating from 1958 and designed in the spirit of socialist realism by architects Josef Vítů and Jaroslav Škarda, features a large hall with retractable tiered seating for up to 391 theatre-goers or 600 guests at balls. The venue hosts concerts, theatre performances, festivals, balls, lectures, and film screenings.
